Moving Around Pattaya

By Songthaew or minibus

This is the most convenient means of transport in Pattaya. It runs frequently along the Beach Road and Pattaya 2 Road in a circular route in counterclockwise direction. Fares are 5 baht and 10 baht per person. For traveling beyond the main bay, the fare is negotiable and is anywhere from 50 to 100 baht.

By rental car, jeep or motorcycle

For more freedom and for leisurely travel, renting cars, jeeps or motorcycle is the option. Places where these are rented are aplenty on Pattaya roads. It is advisable to compare the prices at a few shops before renting the vehicle. An international driver license is needed to drive the vehicle here. For motorcycles, wearing helmet is mandatory. It is strongly advised to take insurance coverage for the vehicle. As there are many cheats operating in the field to dupe the unsuspecting tourists, better check the vehicle for damages and malfunctions and record them in the receipt before renting them. In case of duping, contact Tourist Police. Motorcycle rentals start from 150 baht for 100cc bikes per day.
